At the edge of the woods,
in my little corner of the world,
autumn is unfurling.
I’m quietly sitting at the window in my studio watching the sun reflect through the fall leaves on the trees as well as blanketing the forest floor. Pale yellow, oranges, browns and deep reds. There are streams of sun contrasting with the purple shadows streaking their way through the woods. I truly love the fall here in Brown County though it appears bittersweet knowing the long season that awaits me. We have had an unseasonably warm October and I desire to embrace every sunny, warm speck until winter shows itself.
I’m enjoying participating in the Backroads of Brown County Studio Tour. Ferrer Studio has welcomed many old friends, clients and customers as well as new visitors. I have had many “happy sales” and look forward to more of the same over the next few weeks. Glass artist, Joy Sims, and my sister, still has her works on display even though she had to travel back home to Alabama. Her “Just Fun” workshop was a success and I even explored the world of glass and finished a project.
If you desire to have fall get-away for few hours or a few days, think of traveling to Brown County, Indiana. This is where FALL is happening for sure!
Would love to see you, Dixie
